    The University of Burgundy, based on its two fields of excellence – namely vine and wine on one side and teaching of the french language to non-native speakers on the other side – introduces the new international summer campus " Wine and French Culture in Burgundy ".
    This two-weeks program offers a multidisciplinary approach of wine and its culture in France and in particular in Burgundy; participants will be able to get insights in every aspects of the science of vine and wine:

      1. high quality vineyard management: soils, "terroir" concept, vine
      2. general principles of enology; processes of elaboration; barrel ageing; wine tasting practiceshistory of wines from Burgundy
      3. organization of wineries in burgundy: Controlled Origin Appellation, basics on law and economy of vine and wine

    Wine tasting sessions along with visits of wineries will alternate throughout the program.
    French language will be taught each morning and will be organized as a function of participant levels (from the beginner to the regular speaker). Participants will acquire the vocabulary specific to vine and wine.
    An exciting touristic and cultural week-end in Paris will provide the opportunity to discover or rediscover the charms of the French capital.

    Teachings start on Monday 4 july
    Departure on Friday 15 july

    Participants
    This program is primarily intended for students and professionals (academics, staff...) from international partners of the University of Burgundy, in particular those involved in the network of the Unesco Chair "Culture and traditions of wine" hosted by the University of Burgundy since 2007.
    It is also intended for international students and professionals already present on the different campuses of the University of Burgundy.
    Finally, it is intended for any interested adults from around the world regardless of their scientific or academic background

    Attention : limited number of places, registration will be done on a first come first served basis

    Fees
    €1200 *
    * Includes tuition, visits, tastings and campus midday lunches (except on the National day July 14th), farewell dinner in a prestigious restaurant, and the WE in Paris (transport, accommodation and tour),

    Accommodation
    The university of Burgundy offers the possibility to use campus student accomodations with a choice of two prices :

      1. 9 m2 rooms (with toilet and shower) for a  € 205 extra fee
      2. 15 m2 apartment (with toilet and shower) for a  € 265 extra fee

    Alternatively, for city accomodations, participants are invited to get in touch with the tourism office of Dijon (http://www.visitdijon.com/en/dijon_hebergement.htm) in order to personally proceed to the reservation.
